Put Out More Flags! VE event goes with a swing

The sun came out yesterday afternoon, and there was a fantastic atmosphere in the grounds of St Christopher's School in Canterbury for its annual VE Day event.

With the playground bedecked with bunting, staff and pupils dressed in 1940s costume, the afternoon kicked off with a pageant from the pupils, including poetry readings, songs from the period, mis-en-scenes based around books by Michael Morpurgo - and even marching! We were delighted to have been invited to perform, and after the children's presentations, launched into Tuxedo Junction in the summer sunshine whilst the children, parents, grandparents, staff and visitors launched into the refreshments and visited the exhibition of pupil's WW II - themed work.

A great occasion; some terrific contributions from the children, wonderful atmosphere and enthusiasm from everyone who took part!

We're performing again this coming Friday at 1.10pm on the cabaret-stage in the Gulbenkian Cafe for 'One Last Dance;' see you there!
