The Golden Age gets everyone dancing!
The weather was hot and the music hotter still yesterday lunchtime for our 'The Golden Age' gig during Summer Music Week, and there was a great turn-out with people even dancing!
Compered in his usual suave manner by Major Murgatroyd, the band delivered a rollicking set that had people dancing on the floor in front of the band - this seems to be a recurrent theme wherever we play! - and some sophisticated songstrelling from our FIrst Lady of Jazz, Steph Richardson, and Rob Cliff.
The trombone section took it upon themselves to wander out onto the dance-floor during In The Mood - still playing, of course... - and there was a terrific rapport between the audience and the band throughout. An encore was demanded, delivered, and the gig ended on a terrific high.
Thanks to everyone who came - saw - and danced! We're looking forward to our next gig, at which we'll be helping St Christopher's School in Canterbury with its annual VE Day celebrations. Hats on again, team...
